those are cool shots. Is someone else going to step in and make generic Polaroid film packs?

Yes, there is a group in Holland sweating away on this. They believe there exists a profitable demand. Search for "Polaroid" in the New York Times website and you'll see an article on these Dutch guys as well as a bunch of articles and features on the Polaroid.
