Elias Reitz of Silence Cases makes a damn fine travel case for surfboards. These cases are hand-made to order and are ideal for traveling with glass-ons. The case pictured here can fit 2 fish with glass-on fins with room to pad everything down for the flight. It's recommended to pad the nose and tail of your boards, and there's room for wetsuits and towels for the remaining packing job.
It's approved for size and weight for most airlines, and we weighed one with two Mandala quad fish with glass-ons with padding at under 70lbs. (This case could probably fit three boards without glass-ons too.)
